For the second volume of Xpressions Magazine, my team and I aimed to execute a creative shoot using flower make up. Through floral design, the shoot showcases the act of blossoming as innately radiant, sensually stimulating, and pleasure inducing.
Florals for spring?
Groundbreaking, indeed.
Using flowers sourced from local North Carolinian florists, we hand glued flowers onto our models bodies and faces.
On my assigned model, I hand placed and secured yellow flower petals around her eyes using eyelash glue. I also placed purple and pink eye shadow, in addition to pearl stickers.
After the shoot, I edited and designed the photos into 10 pages that were published in Xpressions Magazine.
Designs
I wanted Bloom to have an earthy, handmade look, while still embodying the magazine theme of artistry. I used Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator & In Design to compose typography, copy, watercolor textures and cut out silhouettes to execute the vision.
