In 2023, some friends and I created a digital media organization dedicated to expanding access to LGBTQIA+ history. To combat increasing censorship nationwide, the LGBT History project provides free educational resources.
With an audience comprised of Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha, the branding of the LGBT History Project is bold, retro, and quirky.
I drew inspiration from stained glass, whimsical libraries and arch ways to position the brand as a trustworthy, educational resource.
Education doesn't have to be boring, and the visual identity of the org entertains while paying homage to the rainbow flag & elder queer activists such as the Lavender Menaces.
The LGBT History Project's website hosts all of our digital content, educational lesson plans, articles and information deep dives. First, I used Adobe XD to design wireframes and prototypes, then developed the website using Webflow.
